I can't see an Eurovision show working in America, where every state puts forth a song. Simply because, while each state is unique, the culture is not that different from state to state in the US like it is from country to country in Europe. That's what's so much fun about Eurovision, seeing all these vastly different cultures clashing with each other. Besides, if it happened in the U.S., wouldn't you get tired of seeing California, New York, Nevada and Tennessee winning over and over because they have the Hollywood, Broadway, Vegas and Nashville machines behind them. Nevada would be sure to win on spectacle alone.

Maybe if it were extended to the whole continent...? North and South America (and Central, I guess? geography is not my thing). I'd watch.
