Re: Tumblr thread #2 - halp! *sorry, kinda long*

I think you may be confusing your actual Tumblr (i.e., the page everyone sees when they type your url into the bar) with your dashboard (the blue page from which you reblog everything). When you click on your blog on your dashboard, you aren't really leaving the dashboard to go to your blog; you're just viewing your own posts on your dashboard. (Apologies if I'm explaining things unnecessarily here!)

If it makes a difference...I can't really speak for anyone else, but I very rarely reblog anything from somebody's actual blog--95% of the time, I'd only see your post on my dashboard, and reblog it from there. And if I was trying to reblog/like something on your actual blog, I'd have no trouble clicking on the post and then using the links in the upper right corner.

But if you want to change the look of your actual Tumblr, you could try looking at more themes. A lot of themes do include reblog/like buttons on the blog itself (rather than just on the pages of individual posts). http://thewicked-eternitythemes.tumblr.com/ has some nice ones which are all free; you might be able to find something you like better there.

Yeah, i finally get that. I don't have much opportunity to see other people's Tumblrs, or how it looks to *them*, so i had no clue. And mostly i'm just over there looking at who i'm following and reblogging, not digging down into the whole mess of themes and customization (kinda like lj).

So i think i might actually have a handle on it now! I just...was very dismayed at how amazingly ugly my Tumblr was when you weren't *me*. (Cause i like the blue. :))

Thanks!
