I've actually wanted something like this before

I don't have any visual difficulties (that aren't solved by glasses) but some secrets are flat-out difficult to read due to font and background.

I don't think it'd be difficult to implement this as long as we ask future submitters to also include a transcription of their text--hopefully in most cases this'll be as easy as them cutting and pasting their word walls.

Something simple like

Picture of Sherlock, text: "I have an undying hatred of Benedict Cumberbatch that borders on the fetishistic"

Keep it simple, but useful. There's actually a bot on reddit that transcribes meme pictures somewhat like this.

Exactly. It's not that fucking difficult, and I don't know why everyone is whining about taking the extra 30 seconds to type it out because god forbid we makes things accessible and have an increase in traffic to F!S.

an increase in traffic might be nice but we might need to be concerned about an increase in submissions. No sense in building interest when people aren't posting many secrets these days.

DA

Honestly, it's no big deal. And if someone took God-knows-how-long to look up an image, edit it, and add the text for it, they can certainly copy-paste the same text (and add a short description of the visual) as part of their submission. An extra minute, tops.

You are assuming there'd be an increase in traffic.

From where? Are you going to wander off to some visually impaired community forum or something and tell folks of this site? And assume they'll care?

I'm not really sure where this traffic increase will be coming from.

I like that bot (mostly because I'm a dirty coward who's afraid to click on links to images unless I know what they are).
