Agreed. 100% agreed. It aggravates me how many people didn't know his name until Harry Potter came out.

Same here! Alan is so amazing, I almost hate saying that I like him as an actor because of his part in the Harry Potter series.

I know exactly what you mean. I've read the books and watch the movie, so I'm afraid to say I like him... It's weird feeling self-conscious people are going to think I 'jumped that bandwagon' because of Harry Potter - when in all actuality, it's the reverse. I liked the movies better -because- they cast him.

Hans from die hard was where I first noticed him. Yeah I am old. *sighs*

I, admittedly, first got into him because of Dogma. At the time I felt like people weren't going to approve, because I only realized how much I liked him after that popular movie.
After Harry Potter came out, I realized I hadn't really gotten into him as late as I could have- and it certainly makes me feel better to be able to say I've loved his work from before Harry Potter came out.

I, at least knew his name before I realized how great he was... and realized he wa a good actor, despite not being familiar with his work - so the people that only started caring about his existance since Snape make me sad. Also, I wouldn't call you old- you're no older than my best friend.

I've had a thing for him since Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. He's was bloody brilliant in that! And then he melted my heart in Sense and Sensibility. Alan Rickman is a God!

Word, I can understand it for the younger folks, but people that have been around since at least Dogma just have no excuse.

Besides, Metatron!Alan Rickman is so much more awesome than Snape!Alan Rickman; not that I don't adore his Snape, or just Snape in general, it's just he's so darn good at snark and Snape isn't snarky. He just lacks social graces. :D Or something like that. >.>
