I'm one of the endless hordes who love him, and I'd disagree that he's "cliche" at all - or at least, if he is, his handling makes the cliches interesting again - but this is not the place to get into that sort of debate. XD It's pretty rough in fandom to not like a character that everyone else does, isn't it? :(
