1. The most beautiful men I've ever met have been through fandom, actually. Granted, I do cosplay a lot and that's where I meet most of them, but I have a friend who may become more than a friend if we can actually make things work out this time around, and he's absolutely gorgeous and I met him online about three years ago. It makes me so happy to find a sexy, intelligent guy who can fangeek over Castlevania more than even I do.

2. Lol. My poor brother hated that movie as a kid. I remember him telling me later on how our cousin was telling him around Gremlins one night while we were vacationing with them and then he had to get up to use the bathroom late that night and realized that the cabinets beneath the sink were the perfect size to hide gremlins. I wonder if the movie still creeps him out. He was the same way about The Goonies. I loved The Goonies and when I was fangirling over it a few months ago he was all, 'Oh God, that movie scarred me as a child.'

3. Clone High, ftw!

15. I liked Windwaker despite having never played it myself. I watched a guy friend of mine play it back in the day. Still doesn't top OoT, but I'll never understand why people bash it so much. Come on, Link had facial expressions. That was awesome. Lol.

17. Cid is seriously one of most awesome characters ever. I'm still saddened that they never made an action figure for him.

26. Yeah, I read the books when I was younger and enjoyed them and pictured Legolas looking like Link, and while my interest had kind of fallen away by the time to films came out after seeing them I reread the series and the Silmarillion and then proceeded to learn Sindarin -- sadly, I remember very little of the latter. Same guy friend who I watched play Windwaker found that 'talent' of mine sexy for some reason ... it was kind of like speaking Klingon though. ::dies.::

35. So much word to that last bit.

36. Alan Rickman was hotter than Snape in every other role he's had. Snape was greasy.

I'm not saying the films didn't do any good... if not for them lots of LotR-love that lay dormant wouldn't have come forward, but I detest fans who proclaim themselves experts about Middle-earth and spend all day gushing over Viggo/Orli without ever having touched the books or even knowing they exist, and existed before the movie came out. Bleargh.

I'm glad you were actually captivated enough to read the Silmarillion - Feanor has got to be my favourite character ever, and I've fallen so in love with the First Age that I don't think I'll ever go back to the LotR-love that I had (the interest waned, like you said) but I still love the books and respect the bloody hell out of Tolkien for creating a world like that. Subcreation at its best. <3

Oh yes Feanor. He's one of my favourites. I also absolutely loved Finrod and can safely say he's my favourite Tolkien character ever.

I love the Silmarillion so much that I actually started short film version of Beren and Luthien, alas it was never finished though I do have a lot of clips. Lol.

Would you share?

(Finrod wins. Killing a werewolf with hands and teeth, no mean feat. And then there's people who see a similarity between "Quendi" and "pansies", argh.)
