31 OP
The other thing I forgot to mention was that I had planned on stepping down from Sage status at the end of this month. I got so angry that Nintendo was being half-assed with the Sage program: they sent me -and a couple others- two shitty games I'd NEVER buy at retail (Brain Age and Magnetica), while everyone else got stuff like Animal Crossing: WW, Diddy Kong Racing and Super Paper Mario.
Not to mention the system overall was terribly, terribly flawed.
I also stopped entering fan art contests after the Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones one, since the Digital Art entry was -essentially- a traced Eirika picture, but with one of her arms altered. That DISGUSTED me to the point where I no longer wanted to participate in them. (After a huge shitstorm with the 'Harvest Moon' contest a few months later, they got better about clamping down on traces)
But yet, in some masochistic way, I am gonna miss the place. Sure, a new community will be along in a couple years, but still...
Anyhow, sorry for the tl;dr comment, but I wanted to add on to what I couldn't fit in the secret itself.
Re: 31 OP
Would you happen to be Canadian? I've heard some stories of them sending the Canadian sages either nothing, or crappy things as oposed to whatever the American sages receieved. Not to mention, and I must agree with you, that the system was pretty flawed. I couldn't understand why certain people were saged while other, more deserving people were overlooked. Hell, I was under the impression that if you spent a long enough time on the forums, you'd at least get some recongnition, but apparently not.
I mostly stuck to the Power On board, so I honestly had no idea it was that bad. :\ I mean, I knew the place was overun with children, but I didn't think it'd go down as to that all-time low.
Yes, towards the end of it's run it was not exactly an amazing place, but I'll honestly miss it too. Goodness knows why, there isn't much to miss.
And don't worry about it. It's nice to speak to former Nsiders. :D So hey, I don't mind hearing what you have to say.
Re: 31 OP
Actually, I am an American. I'm not sure if the amount of product you had registered had anything to do with it (which would suck if it indeed did), but it was really agitating none the less. And yeah, I often wondered why certain people got Saged. Near the last few months one of 'em tried to besmirch my name and reputation by stalking me in threads and insulted my every post. (The worst was when he called me a racist in of -all things- a Pokemon thread) So yeah, makes me wonder as well.
Eh, official forums really aren't anything all that special, but if anything, NSider was good for some laughs at the expense of others on occasion.
