Exactly my feelings. The books reveal so much more, too, you don't even get the best parts if you lack background knowledge. It's not just a lack of love for the material itself that makes me want to scream, it's people who don't touch books since it would require some brain activity. I like the movies, Peter Jackson did an very decent job (and I've only seen GoF from the HP series, but read all the books - that one positively blew me away. For a movie.) but I like the books a thousand times better. What about imagination?

The movies are like... mashed potatoes. The books are the roast beef to go with it. (Eh, waxing failily poetic here, off to bed.)
