I hate having cutesy names for a group of fans of one particular fandom. Especially when they denote craziness or stupidity or, in this case, have a really icky ableist slant to them. I want to just be a fan of something, not a monster or a 'tard or a 'wife.

+1

I'm not in the fandom but I think cutesy names are stupid. They annoy me. I wouldn't mind them so much if they didn't have ableist connections to them, though. I just don't understand why I can't be a fan of X instead of a Ytard, Zfag, etc.

I did lol at Twihard back when that was a thing, but it rings more of diehard fan than anything strictly ableist.

i've never been a fan of cutesy words fandom names either... or pairings really either. i often get them confused with one another. -_-;
