As an American ex-pat living in Canada, this blog speaks to me. Scrolling back and hoping there's a post about KD.

The whole 'Canadians can subsist on KD' thing is entirely true for college students at least! So I hope so too.

If I had a million dollars, we wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner.

(But we would eat Kraft Dinner.)

(Of course we would, we'd just eat more!)

If that link doesn't work for you (I can't find the MV anymore) here's the explanation anyway:

Ahh okay, sorry for misinterpreting you! And yeah, you'd think a BNL music video would be more findable on the interwebs. Sorry dude. @_@

THE RULES OF KD.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-05 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Unless you are desperately broke, and/or have a sodium deficiency, never, under any circumstances, use the radioactive orange powder in the pouch. Unless you buy White Cheddar KD. This is acceptable.

Extra Creamy KD = add more margarine.

Extra cheesy KD = add less margarine

"Thin sauce" KD (some people like this IDK) = add extra milk.

You can add virtually anything to KD to make it a complete meal according to the Canadian Food Guide. http://hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/alt_formats/hpfb-dgpsa/pdf/food-guide-aliment/view_eatwell_vue_bienmang-eng.pdf

KD is always vastly improved with wieners (boiled in the same water as the pasta) and ketchup. Specifically Vienna Sausages wieners and specifically Aylmer Ketchup.

What the hell the orange powder is the best. Why are you buying KD if you're only using the macaroni, just buy a bag of loose dry macaroni.

(Then again, I eat it without adding milk or butter, too, since I can't stand it even slightly creamy, and I never, ever put ketchup or hot dogs on.)

I will fight to the death on how to eat my crummy two dollar overly-salted cheese pasta, dammit!

I remember when you could buy a box of KD for 49 cents.....

YES the white cheddar KD is much better.

Even better is the white cheddar mac and cheese from President's Choice (Loblaw's Superstore etc. brand). <3
