As much as I love RPing Magoichi with Keiji, I find I have much more fun if I RP Magoichi flirting with and shacking it up with the ladies.

Yeah. I don't know, but even with like fictional characters and stuff, I find them more fun/attractive if they like both women and men. The whole trend of being like I AM TEH GHEY EWWWW GIRLS in yaoi RP is pretty annoying. >>"

That heterophobic trend crap is pretty annoying too. I stopped RPing with some people because they want Magoichi to only be boinked by guys. He's not very choosy when it comes to women, it's only when he wants some man-meat is when he's VERY choosy.

There's no doubt Keiji is the only man for Magoichi. =3 Hell, they're great together even in a non-sexually charged situation. (friendship/friendly rivalry type setting) Though Keiji couldn't fully remove the ladykiller outta Magoichi.

I think you can come up with a greater variety of stories if you don't force the characters into one sexual orientation. The only character I have a problem pairing with another guy is Cid in FFVII. And I have no idea why!

I make Seifer COMPLETELY homophobic in any AU setting EVER and most canon settings too (and he's really GOOD at tearing people new ones about it), but he's totally bisexual even then and I ship Seifer/Zell like crazy. *dies*

What's kind of ironic, though, is that whenever you actually -have- an RP like that, where all the guys are gay and all the girls are straight and everyone's obsessed with pairings, it doesn't matter what your character's preferences are, they're all gonna kinda be despies anyway. >>"

But part of RPing is making the character who THEY are, not who you are, isn't it? I don't mean to knock your ways, or insult you, because personally, I feel the same, but not everyone in the world feels the same about it. Why should every character be indifferent to gender?

Ah, you took it wrong. :D It's not that they're "indifferent" to gender, it's that some of them are SERIOUSLY SO DEEP IN THE CLOSET THAT WTFFFFF OMG they may never come out. In all the fandoms I'm active in, there have never been any official declarations of THIS CHARACTER IS COMPLETELY STRAIGHT/GAY, and as long as there aren't any, I figure I'm good to do whatever I want with their preferences.

This isn't to say that I'm going to turn uh, like, Seifer into some kinda flaming gay queer just because he's not OFFICIALLY CANONLY -ONLY- STRAIGHT. He's going to act like Seifer acts. Bash people, not let anyone emotionally close to him, generally be an arrogant ass. But if someone somehow DOES get close? It'd be way -easier- for a girl than for a guy, but the possibility would be there. That a bit clearer?
