I can't agree with this, mainly because I own one. I honestly don't think I've changed since owning my doll :/ But then again, I can't really say.
I don't really treat him like a real person, he's still a doll, but yes I do take 9434354 photos of him. Because it's my hobby...
And you say people whinge because they can't afford another one because they've spent so much on the first one, it's pretty much the same for any hobby or fandom. Whilst making cosplay outfits, I'll spend a hell of a lot one month then have to wait till the next month to continue making it. But I don't whinge. It is kinda annoying when you see something you'd like but can't buy it. But I'm like that with a lot of things.
