You are not alone, he's my favourite Moriarty by a mile. (Though I haven't seen Elementary's yet- it still hasn't finished airing in my country.)

God forbid we have something fun and new, instead of just the 1000th iteration of 'I'm just a generic criminal who randomly gets assigned the status of 'arch-nemesis' because the name 'Moriarty' is recognizable to non-fans but actually there's nothing special or interesting about me at all.'

Yes, people who are watching a show that's all about showing new versions of the Sherlock Holmes characters hate Moriarty because he's a new version of a Sherlock Holmes character.

Er, no. I'm okay with a new take on Moriarty because-- surprise! -- I'm committed to watching a new take on Sherlock Holmes in general. It's that I don't think overacting and a silly voice is necessarily "fun". I also have different standards for what is "special" or "interesting" and merely putting on a goofy voice and acting camp doesn't quite pass muster.
