He's fairly scary in GoF and then just...loses his way. I can fit that version of Voldemort with the way he reads in the book of GoF but then they kind of move away from one another. I'm sure Ralph Fiennes had lots of fun but it just wasn't all that intimidating bar one or two moments (such as when he kills the teacher at the start of DH part 1.)

Confession: When I first saw GoF, I hadn't yet read the books because I'd always assumed it was too late to start/I was too old for them. Having since got over that and read the books, my view on Voldemort's first film appearance being the most frightening didn't change.
