That show is fantastic. Graham Norton is a genius at getting the best interviews out of people.

And I love how he brings all the guests out at once.

yeah, I'm surprised more talk shows don't try to have all the guests on at once. I realize it's probably a function of how talk shows are actually filmed and logistics and scheduling and things like that, but I like that kind of freewheeling atmosphere.

Same, I love when all the guests are on at once. The only other chat show I can think of that did that was Paul O'Grady, which sadly isn't on anymore. :(

Oh, I love Graham Norton! :)

My favorite bit is the stories from the Red Chair. Sometimes I'll fastforward through the entire interview just to get to it.

I love watching it, because Graham will have such different people on stage at the same time, all interacting with each other, and you never know what to expect with that sort of mix. I end up watching other talk shows and being confused when they don't bring everyone out at once.

I like it because it's generally a more interesting talk show. I love how he has fun with his guests, his guests (as a whole) know what they're getting in for, and it's generally a fun show. e

I grew up watching his chat show when he was on Channel 4 and dude, Graham Norton is just great at getting good interviews out of people. He brings the guests out together, has a laugh with them instead of putting them on a pedestal, and is generally delightfully cheeky :D

Ah, an excuse to post this video

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap, how have I not seen this before :')

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I still refuse to believe the British audience knew who these people were.

They were just told to applaud.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Why though? We (UK) had Fresh Prince too, a lot of my friends growing up watched it, and even though I didn't so much I could still remember a lot of the theme tune and guy who played Carlton.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I'm British, too, and am vaguely aware he was on telly, in the states, before he made films.

But I never saw it. I just think it statistically unlikely that the whole audience saw it...

The sheer amount of American TV that is on our televisions over here sometimes dwarf's our our output. Anyone from my genenration grew up with it playing on BBC 2 every evening. Majority of us know the Fresh Prince rap off by heart. In the bar I work in, the Fresh Prince rap plays weekly, and everyone sings along.

Graham Norton is my favorite as well. The interviews tend to be much more fun and usually the actors look like they're having a ball, which makes them delightful to watch. There aren't many cases where I think back to an episode and go, "Oh, that interview was awful" or "everyone looked uncomfortable."

Plus, sometimes you get amazing chemistry between the guests. The show has had some interesting combinations.

I used to watch his show every night back on Channel 4. He always has such giggly fun with his guests.

Background is of The Graham Norton Show

Text: This is, far and away, my favorite talk show.
I don't admit this for fear of looking like a BBC-aboo.
(I don't like it just because it's British)

B!S: I love coming up with captions for pictures from the show!

(Anonymous) 2013-06-09 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
BBC-aboo! Oh my god, that's me. (I *was* raised on a solid diet of it, though...)
solarbird: (cheating-at-scrabble)

BBC-aboo?

[personal profile] solarbird 2013-06-10 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
"BBC-aboo?" Really? It's "BBC-aboo?" and not "Beeb-a-boo?" Honestly?

Secret, sure, Graham Norton is hilarious, carry on. But c'mon, people! If you're gonna coin it, coin it right! Beebaboo!

Re: BBC-aboo?

in a perfect example of a paradox: most anglophiles don't know bbc = beeb

(Anonymous) 2013-06-10 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm with you. I think it's one of the best talk shows, probably because the guests get to talk to each other and stay on longer than five minutes.

I prefered his show when it was on Channel 4. It was so much better and racier and just off the wall. C4 doesn't have the hang ups that the Beeb have in terms of viewership.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-10 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Right there with you. Graham is a great host and having allt he guest of for the whole show is just perfect and so much more entertaining.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-10 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think he's been tamed a bit by being on the Beeb rather than C4, but it is an amiable show.

Those pics, OMG I laughed so much at Miriam Margoliyse with Will I Am, that was hilarious.
