Frik, I caught the flu. My throat hurts like I swallowed a hedgehog and I am all stuffed up.

When was the last time you were super sick and what did you have?

Right now, all I want is some egg drop soup.

I had a nasty cold/flu a few years ago, where I couldn't even move. My boss called me every day to yell at me because I refused to come into the office.

On the fourth day of me being sick, and her calling three or four times, I said, "Fine, I'll go in."

I realized halfway to the office that I hadn't changed out of my pajamas, decided 'fuck it', and went on to work anyway.

Did she sympathize that I came in feverish, still in my jammies?

Nope.

She told me to be in to work "on time" the next day...at least 'til I expelled snot and other goo all over my desk.

If a lot of dust gets kicked up (like when I'm cleaning) I have major, major allergy attacks that basically kicks my ass for a day and a half. But the last time I got super fucking sick was late summer 2011. I was coughing for a couple months after -- whenever I get something in my lungs it takes forfuckingever to go away. I remember I got sick in 2004 right after classes ended for the summer in early June, I was on my back for a month and I didn't stop coughing until January.

I caught a terrible flu right after Christmas break and went to work sick everyday. I get such limited time off work that I just sucked it up and went to work anyway even though I was miserable. Mostly because the office "closes" for Christmas break but I'm forced to use personal time if I want to be paid. But they don't tell us this until right beforehand.

I was miserable for a week and ordered lunch to be delivered to the office yum chicken noodle soup hot every day.

I'm currently in the 'hacking up a lung' phase of an especially shitty cold so you have my full sympathies :(

I was sick to varying degrees off and on for several months after I moved to Washington. Only some of it was bad, but holy fuck, duration. I'd get something new before I was done coughing from last time.

I seriously think my voice changed permanently after that. O_o

Earlier this year, I had a stomach flu for about 3 weeks. I don't really remember much of the time.

December. The day before a ten hour flight. I pretty much lived on chicken soup and pills.

A couple of months ago I came down with a 102 degree fever, a bad cough, gunk in my lungs, and then a horrible sore throat. The fever lasted a week, the sore throat and cough lasted a month.

The doctors told me my flu test came back negative and that they couldn't treat me for anything. In their words, I just had a totally normal cold virus, and while I'm no expert, it definitely didn't feel like a cold.

I'm still bitter about it, because it still keeps mildly coming back and it's annoying as fuck.

Two years ago I was on my ass with chemo.

Worst part is I might be out of remission and have to go through all that shit again.

Aside from my ongoing chronic illness (chronic pain, fatigue), I haven't had anything beyond upper respiratory colds in the last year. Right around a year ago I had a really nasty cold and an ear infection. Let me tell you, I'm glad my sisters and I never had frequent ear infections as kids- I think I maybe had one in my life before this one last year. That shit HURTS!

I enjoy jello when sick. Feel better, mekkio!

A few months ago I caught some sort of flu/really bad cold and I couldn't even move for the first day because my head hurt so bad. It was a few days before I could stand up without feeling dizzy and weeks before I stopped coughing :/
I lived completely on smoothies for a week. Blueberry strawberry banana ones are the best!
