I just heard about Justice Jay Ackles's birth and I am so so curious as to what the fandom reaction was. I just really don't want to see it first-hand. Could anyone tell me how it went when the new broke originally?

I don't care too much about my favorite celebrities' baby happenings. But congratulations to them.

I am not too keen on the name just because I know those psychos at spn_gossip are probably wetting themselves because of the proof of Jensen and Jared's twu luv.

spn gossip and tumblr had an explosion of astonishing stupidity and tinhatters claimed that "jay" was in tribute to Jared and that it was obviously a sign of their super homo love affair.

you know, the usual.

Still, aside from the tinhatters and crazies I saw a lot of fans who were happy that the baby is healthy and wish Jensen luck in fatherhood

apparently, some fans even put together a fundraiser in honor of their daughter's birth and they have raised nearly $45,000 for children in need

As a fan of Supernatural, I couldn't give a flip about the cast's kids. I think it's kind of creepy how some people are so invested in the cast's families. I can see liking West because Misha does little youtube sketches with him, ("Cooking Fast and Fresh with West.") but the other two don't want their families all over the internet. So, I am happy to oblige.

Apparently, she was born the...30th? of May, so they didn't announce it for a while. I just saw screencaps of Daneel's Twitter about three days ago, and most people *i* know in fandom are congratulatory. A number are, also, sadly tinhatting away, but i avoid those as much as possible.

Apparently someone said that 'Justice' sounded like a superhero name, and Daneel replied that 'that's what we were going for!'

So there's that. Me, well - yay, they safely had a baby, and yay, it's hiatus so Jensen gets to do some three a.m. feedings, too. Otherwise...i got fic to read! :)

My Tumblr dash so far has reacted with paroxysms of joy, congratulations to the parents, pleas that everyone respect Jensen's wishes and not dissiminate any leaked pictures, occasional threats to anyone who ignores said pleas, assorted variations on photoshopped baby Rapunzel as a surrogate image for JJ, and grumbles about people shipping her with the other cast members' kids.
