Low voices are great. You should tell people who say you sound like a guy that it must be hard for them to have so much trouble differentiating gender.

I have a low voice and I use it to my advantage when singing alto. I like the way I sound. However, I will admit to raising my pitch when I need to sweet-talk strangers.

I dunno, my voice has been one of the few things in my life I've been really proud of about myself.

I hope you can love your voice too. I bet it's nice.

Yeah, I just find people are more responsive and positive when my voice sounds higher. Granted, using that voice does have its downsides if you happen to start to know those people long term because they build an innocent image of you.

Have you ever had that happen to you?

Yes, quite often. I was a total people pleaser in my tween and teen years. I was very insecure with myself up until the time I was a sophomore in college. I wasn't sure I could be the real me. It was my voice class that helped me break that high pitched shell I was in. I kind of just learned that I didn't need to sweet talk anyone anymore. If they don't like me for something as trivial as my voice, then that would obviously be a relationship I would not want to pursue.

As for innocence, I try to shatter that illusion early on. Tell a dick joke. No one will think you're innocent anymore. Or perhaps a classic "that's what she said." Then the joke sort of writes itself for you! :)

Ah, I still use it when it's advantageous. I figure it's close enough to the real me, just in a higher voice. But I can get your reasoning.

That never works for me! I've gone in depth into exotic dildos, bestiality, cannibalism, and anything else I can think of and everyone still likes to paint me as the girl who would never even curse. I mean, really, what the fuck? It's so weird.
