Re: Your voice-Love it or hate it?
Back in high school, I was one of the few people who could handle public speaking and so became proud of my voice. Yet when I enter college and no longer need to do public speaking on a weekly basis, I feel challenged by fast-paced social discussions with no real point and became ashamed of my voice. I also became paranoid that the slightly nasal tinge in my voice puts people off from really listening to me.
Maybe focusing on the content of what one speaks can help reduce self-consciousness about one's voice. I can't be sure if this is true but I've read that Abraham Lincoln, one of the greatest orators in history, actually had a high-pitched voice but it certainly didn't stop him from making important and inspiring speeches.
