Re: Your voice-Love it or hate it?

For me, it's complicated by the fact that I'm trans. But yeah, I like my singing voice, but hate my speaking voice. My speaking voice is just... at its best it's a flat, androgynous monotone, and when I slip up it's too high and girly. And if I talk too much, the effort of keeping my voice as low as I can starts to hurt my throat. Also, I have a bit of a weird accent for no apparent reason (i.e. my accent doesn't make sense in relation to the accents people around me spoke when I was growing up).

But when I'm singing, I'm a pretty decent tenor, and in that section it's actually an advantage that I can easily and strongly hit the higher notes that some of the other guys struggle with.
