I don't want to wear lemon printed flousy overalls and a rabbit eared coat that makes me look like I am ready for a juice box and a nap.

Yes. And they are all CHILDREN'S CLOTHING to me. Maybe it's because I am around children most of the time. But I can't see an adult wearing those clothing without asking them if they have learned their ABC's yet.

Really? You are going to be childish. I don't hate anyone. I don't like this particular trend on adults. I want adult clothing. Like the clothing you see on "Suits." That's some gorgeous clothing there.

i dunno, some of them look pretty much like adult clothes i've seen

also i now avoid the children's clothing in stores; i keep getting envious of them getting more stylish clothing then the adults section D: D: D:

I thought so, too! WTF? A lot of this stuff does come in adult sizes.

I'll admit that the lemon suit bothered me, but only because it looks like it was made at home out of some kind of bedsheet material.

Agreed! There'd be some proportional tweaking (besides size, obviously, and mostly to get rid of the "endearingly oversized" choice), but some of the designs really do look like informal adult clothing. Some would definitely be pushing twee past one's early 20s, though...

Yeah, it's more that I want clothes made with those patterns/fabrics, not that exact thing scaled up. The print on the Sailboat dress or lemon overalls (print overalls are just a bad idea for everyone) would be really cute on a blouse. Which you could even wear with sensible tailored grown-up clothes, like suits. The two are not mutually exclusive.

But I DO want the tree silhouette dress just scaled up because that's definitely more grown-up clothes on a kid than vice versa.

I like dressing in flouncy, ruffly clothes because I never had a childhood and I cling to a sense of whimsy and innocence I never knew. nice to know you hate me because of it.

By the looks of this thread I had no idea that there were so many adults who wanted to look like the Nick Jr. set.

... Most of those actually look like adult clothes shrunken and modified to child sizes, to me. I have never seen a kid in real life wearing anything like them.

I think that some of these outfits would actually translate very well to adult clothing. The key, of course, would be that they're cut to fit adult bodies. And really, some of these clothes are so much more well-designed than some adult clothing I've seen. There's got to be some envy felt by people who posted this article for clothing that have such interesting concepts behind them or that are so well made, being applied to a children's fashion line.
