They want to talk about liking A/C and B/D on their our journal or on a general community? Fine.

But when they do that on a A/B community it gets annoying. I'm there for my OTP, I want to talk about A/B and not other ships.

Exactly this, And that's why I can see the OP getting upset.

I don't care if people multi-ship, but if you're bringing it into a comm that's meant for just one pairing, just stop.

Yes, exactly. I don´t mind multishippers. They can ship whatever they want in their blogs or general communities. But it´s so annoying when you are in an A/B community and A/C and B/D shippers are also there and you can´t complain how horrible is that A/B are fighting because multishippers say it would be good if A/C dated too.

Exactly: I am fine with multi-shippers and there are fandoms where I multi-ship - though it tends to be my gen fandoms, ie where I prefer gen fics anyway- but I find it is in terrible taste to dismiss the decline of A/B in an A/B comm, regardless of how one feels about A/C or or B/C or even A/B/C for that matter.

There are multi-ship comms -not specifically A/B- in which multi-shippers can expound on the different attractions of the A/C or C/D pairings. There's also different fandoms, whether they share some of the same actors/actresses or not.

But I find it really interesting that some high-minded people in this thread are lecturing the ones who feel a bit like the OP about the fact that we care too much about silly, petty stuff.

Hello? This is FANDOM, do you even understand what fandom is? Where have you been all these years? If we didn't care about silly, completely unimportant shallow stuff while millions are dying of hunger in the world, we'd be out there working or sunning ourselves on the beach or whatever, not wasting our time on the internet writing/reading/getting far too excited about stupid stuff as you call it.

This is what online fandom IS, you superior posters who don't have anything better to do with their time than post here, in an anon comm, specifically designed to vent about petty fandom stuff.

Don't come here and lecture us on how petty what we care about is, simply because you yourself don't care about the exact same stuff we do: if this is beneath you judgmental guys/gals, then go offline and save the world instead of lecturing us on how we feel! We already know that we care too much about silly stuff, thanks for your moral support anyway.

The OP was careful to post here instead of disturbing whichever fandom she is referring to, and I think she should be thanked for her patience and tolerance and ability to identify what her problem is as well as acknowledge that to some extent it is her own problem: I respect that and wish more people were that adult in some of the fandoms I have been in...
