It seems to me that a lot of people feel this way, they just don't admit it.

As a newer fan who tends to get into older shows, it's an attitude I don't appreciate. It's very hard to feel welcomed when the old fans want to "protect" their stuff. And chase off new fans with these attitudes and then they wonder why their fandoms are dying out.

This secret makes me kinda sad/angry, but at least you're honest about it unlike a lot of people.
