I'd have broken up with him, too, OP. But mostly for having no sense of aesthetics. That is one ugly tattoo design.

I can't help but wonder if the reason the mark is so fugly is because the movie makers deliberately made it look ugly because it was the bad guys? After all, these are the same serious of movies that made Slytherins butt-ugly to show how ~evil~ they are (except for Draco, who was bloody cute when he was younger, though I personally think Tom Felton lost that as he grew up).

I couldn't agree more, the Dark Mark is surely sinister in its connotations but the design looks like something a teenaged boy would draw on his notebook.
