Re: Living with parents

My sister is 24 and still living at home; honestly, my parents don't expect that she's likely to ever live on her own, but there are health/medical reasons for this. I moved out at 18, but I ended up disabled with a debilitating pain condition at 19, and I am honestly not sure what I would do if not for my partner, who, while also disabled, thankfully has a tech position that they can do from home.

I see a lot more people around my age (28) either only just getting out onto their own because of job hunting difficulties after college graduation, or people having to move back with their parents because of getting laid off and not being able to find another position. It sorta sucks right now for trying to get out on your own, since while there are always the people that say "go flip burgers", even those positions are hard fought for, and that doesn't really pay enough in most places to live on one's own.
