And all the people ignoring the fact the OP said they didn't want to watch a show to say 'You should give it a shot!'

That kind of thing is why I tend run from things [...well that, and tragic stories really *are* completely draining.]

more like people are correcting the op's mistaken belief that madoka and supernatural are all angst and tragedy all the time, because they... aren't. are they sad and heartwrenching at times? sure, but that's hardly all they are. supernatural can be pretty funny/cracky and i personally found the ending of madoka to be very hopeful and inpsiring.

idk if this kind of discussion needs spoiler warnings...

Not the anon, but that's the ending, and even that is a kind of "broken miracle" ending (inspiring but still sad in circumstances for just about every named character involved). I loved Madoka but I would think the OP's secret makes it pretty clear she would not enjoy the series. I don't think the "corrections" are really that helpful.

This. It's great that other people enjoy that, and like it...but the OP made it pretty clear that they felt that they really wouldn't enjoy it despite having [presumably] heard about it from multiple other people. 'Corrections' on 'You should still totally watch it!' aren't helpful at all.
