Silver is a real bitch of a color to get right, OP. If you screw it up, it just looks grey (which is usually ugly) or it looks white, or a very light shade of another colour. Especially with a static image so you can't show off the light reflection, which is a hallmark of silveryness. (That is now a word cuz I said so.) So I don't blame them for choosing light blue.

Well, that and the fact that Fairy Godmother said it was blue, which it quite clearly is in the movie...
