I am horrible in that I strongly prefer ones where they have sons (I am one of four girls and I have six nieces). This limits which ones I read.

Haha, me too. I'm a bit picky about what Mpreg fic I read, but if it's my pairing and well written I love it.

(Just in case anyone's interested, there's a Kirk/Spock one I'm really enjoying.)

I like fic where, regardless of the source material, is schmoopy and fluffy. Even if the source material is serious and lots of stuff is happening, the fic still finds time for a wedding or domestic fluff or something. The type of fic where people who don't read fanfics are like "no, you're ruining The X-Files with your shipping!" or whatever.

That's not ALL I read, but that's definitely my guilty pleasure. :)

Same. I don't care that my current OTP involves a ruthless politician and his secretary with no discernible personality, as much as I appreciate the longfic that fully explores their relationship ... give me the fluff.

I'm currently trying to see if I can write a multicrossover Great Gatsby-like fic, only with a more darker air around Mr. Gatsby. Here's the synopsis:

"New York, 1922. In the last few years, the Easterners and Westerners have changed the whole city. The buildings are higher, the parties were bigger, the morals were looser and the liquor was cheaper. One day, news began to spread of an enormous palace being built on the coast of Long Island. At the same time, a mysterious person began to make his presence in the halls of the corporations, a person with the name "Jay Gatsby".

As the entire city began to take notice of this man, news of goings-on in the mansion began to spread around the populace. So when the man finally threw his gates open for a grand party, how could anyone resist the offer?"

Anyway, this story is just pure crack. I mean, I'm making:
Phineas Flynn and Marvel Loki as heads of their companies (with Tangled Rapunzel as Loki's secretary),
The Auditores as wealthy traders,
Several Touhou characters being famous scientists (ending with Ezio/Utsuho of all parings),
The Hetalia Italy brothers being entrepreneurs (spoiler alert, North Italy will hook up with Mituna from Homestuck, and he's the more religous one (the brother)),
And Terezi Pyrope being a famous incorruptible prosecutor who likes to investigate things on her own (I'm thinking of a Pyrope-Gatsby showdown in the mansion as the party goes on).

It's just... pure crack.

Yes, seriously.

tbh I have to sometimes check myself when I'm writing original stories, because the vast majority of the time I end up with a male and female lead who end up paired off into gay relationships, and it feels really self-indulgent :c

guilty pleasure fic i like reading is usually within YA book fandoms from source material like mortal instruments, twilight, wicked lovely, and similar novels. i also like academia AUs and domestic situations.

guilty pleasure writing fic is all about degrassi and writing character studies, cause there are so many holes to fill and characters to write about.

I'm working on a fic for a kink meme where one character basically wrecks another's cognitive capabilities and then systemically undermines their autonomy so they'll be loyal and dependent.

Horrible treacly father-son feel-good fic.

Gibbs&Tony, Hannibal&Face, Josaih&Ezra...there's some truly appalling Snape&Harry fatherson fics from back in the day that I keep bookmarked for nostalgia's sake (as well as some that I still think are awesome!)
