I've wanted to watch this shoe for a long time and I'm currently half way through the first episode but I'm already bored stiff. When does it start getting good?

Agreed, I spent much of that series waiting for the reavers to get ahold of that annoying bitch and fuck her up BADLY.

Would have made a better movie, just two hours of summer glau being tortured.

What I got was two hours of summer glau being a smug ugly cunt and everyone worshiping her as the biggest badass in the verse.

I've never felt so robbed in all my life. Seriously I've had period pains I enjoyed more than that movie.

For me, it was good from the get-go. Maybe it's just not your thing?

If you still really want to give it a try, though, skip ahead to "Out of Gas" and "Ariel." Those are big episodes in terms of getting people hooked. If you still don't dig it after that, then I'd say you can be reasonably certain that it just doesn't work for ya.

The first episode is my least favorite, tbh. It took me about four or five episodes to begin to warm up to Firefly at all. Now in retrospect I love all the episodes... except the first one, lol. That one is pretty boring.

Yeah, I think Firefly took about two or three eps for me to really think it was hitting its stride, but once it did, I began to see the Kaylee/Simon and Mal/Inara elements :D

I felt that way when I tried it. Barely got through the first episode a couple years; finally watched the rest of it this week while I was sick. I thought it got better, though I also still think it's a wee bit overrated. And I liked the show far more than Serenity.

I think in my head it's/they're a victim of its/their own internet adoration: I've heard (knowingly or not) so many quotes and references and seen random screenshots and heard it talked up so much that actually experiencing it was like... oh, yeah, that's dully familiar. Oh, and River kinda barely plays a role in the tv episodes, despite the internet having a cult of Summer Glau, which threw me off. But it still had some funny bits and I enjoyed the Mal/Inara chemistry. *shrug*
