I think someone has misunderstood what fandom secrets is about (or has a truly original way to troll).

No. I was actually trying to present it in an interesting way, but it looks like I went...too far in that direction. :(

In the back of my head, as I go about my life, I often find myself imagining that Cal Hockley is looking over my shoulder. Like, for some reason he's been shunted through time (and across the fourth wall, I guess) and he's...there, watching me and the modern world and thinking how awful it all is because no one's staying in their place. And I think, "fuck you, I'm gonna show you up, you bastard."

So, the secret is: I get my motivation and ambition from this bizarre fantasy that a fictional aristocrat from a historical romance is following me around and judging me.

That's quite a secret! Maybe you could rework it and resubmit? But make it clear this time that it's about you and how he makes you feel. I'd be really interested to read the discussion for this.

That's probably a good idea! I think I will eventually do that. I imagine it'd be best for me to wait a bit, though, just to put some...proper distance between it and the fail!baring, heh.

Don't worry, I'm sure everyone will have forgotten about it by next week. I don't think everyone checks the non-included secrets anyway, I only started doing it recently and I've been reading fs for ages.

you should turn that into a novel. Perhaps change the characters name first, though.
