Is there any regard in which this fandom is NOT horrible? Also it's just about THE most het-centric fandom I've ever been in. Unless you ship Robb/Jon/Theon in any combination, you'd better ship het or nobody will give a damn about your ship.

Eh, Bran/Jojen, Ramsay/Theon, Stannis/Jon, and Stannis/Davos seem to be picking up in popularity lately. As for femslash, Margaery/Sansa and Missandei/Dany are quite popular (though less so for the latter). It really depends on where you look.

I know where to look, I'm extremely active in this fandom. Sure, fics for those ships exist, but it's nowhere near the amount of fic for Jaime/Brienne, Ned/Catelyn, Arya/Gendry, Sandor/Sansa etc. There are het ships between characters who have never even met that are more popular than for example Stannis/Davos, who have one of the closest relationships in the books.

What gets me is that despite being a canon gay pairing, Renly/Loras isn't as popular as I expected, and neither of them are slashed much with other men, either.
