Me too! I just really love Pepper; that she isn't a superhero (well, except for Rescue and everything), but she still has a lot of power and here is holding a position of power. I kind of internally freaked out when I saw that she was on the cover of that magazine.

I really like the non-super characters in superhero movies/comics, seeing what they can do in a superhero filled world. And I REALLY loved Pepper in Iron Man 3 especially (though she's great in the other movies too).

I was really excited, too, OP! Pepper is one of my favorite characters in anything ever, and while I was really excited she got to be special in this movie, my favorite part was her still being CEO. Way to rock the world, Pepper.

I love Pepper. I especially loved how in IM3 the world wanted Iron Man to be the superhero they thought they needed but in the end, Pepper was the superhero Tony thought he needed.

I am still confused? Does she still have the burning powers at the end of the movie? I thought it was implied she didn't finish all the injections so it would go away (and I think Tony said something about fixing her). But I don't know.

You are right, in a voice over, Tony did indeed say they fixed her and then had himself fixed.

I figured that when Tony "fixed" her, it meant he improved and stabilized the Extremis formula so that she wouldn't be at risk of blowing up. (I think there's actually a mention in the movie of him figuring out the flaw in Extremis, though I'm not 100% sure because I've only seen it once.) Then he used it on himself so that he could have the shrapnel removed from his heart safely. I see no implication there that Pepper doesn't still have the Extremis powers (though I would headcanon it to just the super strength/speed/healing, since the burning powers are probably too closely tied to the blowing-up risk).

Word of God says Tony got rid of Extremis completely. Why? Because "badly wrapped up plotline," that's why.

The movie itself is pretty vague about it and so can be taken either way, while Word of God says Tony got rid of it completely. *shrugs*

I totally agree. And I loved that scene at the end where she was kicked ass and then was all 'Oh my God that was so violent'. I cringe at violence too but that scene made me feel really cheered up. Like, hey, I hate violence too but that doesn't mean I can't be as cool as Pepper sometimes

I'm happy she was still CEO too. It may seem like a small thing but it means a lot to me.

A while back, I made a secret (using this picture) about how much I hoped she would still be CEO in Iron Man 3. I just want to say that I was really fucking delighted when she was. I know she did a lot of other awesome stuff in IM3, but the fact that she was still CEO of Stark Industries was probably my favorite part of her character the movie.

Absolutely agree, it's great they kept her in that position; anything else would've been a major disappointment. I love how capable and headstrong she is! Pepper is my favorite thing about the Iron Man movies alongside Tony; there can never be enough of her and all her scenes are amazing.

But it's not the real world. It's a movie.

They're saying that the position of power (CEO) actually exists in the real world, in a way that the position of superhero doesn't. That seeing women in movies given real-life-type power is awesome. That's how I read it, anyway.

DA, but what I believe the OP meant was that Pepper's in a position of unambiguous power that exists in the real world. Young girls can't exactly grow up to be superheroes, but they sure as shit can aim for the top of the Fortune 500.

yeah I'm a bit confused by the OP's phrasing too...it is a movie.

And successful RL women CEOs do exist...i.e.: the heads of yahoo, hp, ibm, etc.
