I think the idea is that there are less likely to be decapitation victims in the thread than there are to be rape victims?

I mean, I'm not saying I agree. Personally, I'm uncomfortable with wishing death or harm to anyone real (fictional characters I wish harm on all the time, that's why I'm a writer), particularly as I'm very aware that no man is an island and something like what anon is advocating would do a lot of damage to a lot of innocent people associated with her, but I can see where there's a degree of difference between rape and murder in this case. Rape is, after all, more common and leaves more immediate scars for the victim. More common trigger, basically.

All I remember (this was before I realized she was an attention-seeker and nothing else) is Neil Gaiman plugging the book endlessly on his blog, and writing about the "appearances" they did together to promote it. I forget what it was called, but it was basically photos of Amanda Palmer staged in various murder scenes. So. Yep.
