I feel you. I get enough of social issues in real life and when I'm in fandom, I just want to escape from that all. As soon as other fans start talking about social issues, representation, underlying misogyny and whatnot, I'm out of there. I don't care if the show I'm watching is "problematic", I just watch it to tune out and enjoy myself.

If it turns out that the show reminds me too much of real life problems, I stop watching. End of story.

So go find people who also just want to veg out. Other people don't have to stop talking about what they want to talk about just because you don't want to join the conversation. Go have a conversation with someone who wants to talk about what you want to talk about.
