I feel like I identify with Kaylee from Firefly a lot, but I feel like that's a character a lot of people want to identify with, and is kind of cliched.

Same here. The reason I identify with her is because she's so fundamentally positive. She can be hurt or upset or frightened, but she'll rally and bounce back. She has this core of optimism and hope that really resonates with me.

But yeah, you and me and half the other female Firefly fans, right? *sigh*

That's why I identify with her; I'm a generally upbeat, happy person and I am also very optimistic. I feel like this is the core of who Kaylee is, and it's a big part of who I am.

But yeah, so much of the other female Firefly fans.
