The next book I'll be reading is Omens by Kelley Armstrong.

The plot reminds me a bit of a Dean Koontz book I read.

I'm giving it a shot since I loved her Otherworld series. I'm hoping it's good. She posted the first few chapters online a few weeks ago, and it did hook me.

A friend of mine gave me one of her books to read, and I was so disappointed because I loved the plot/characters etc, but for some reason I could NOT stand her writing style, and it turned me off reading more.

I don't know if her style varies depending on the book, and whether I should try reading another one or not. :

What was the book? Was it part of the Otherworld series, or was it Nadia?

This was a loooong time ago, but I think it might have been 'Bitten'. It doesn't help that it was in first person and I have to REALLY like a book in order to be able to read first person. It drives me crazy for some reason... :/

Oh, yeah. Elena's voice can be annoying at times, she's second to Hope as my least favorite Otherworld MC. All of her books are in first person, except for some parts of No Humans Involved, Haunted, and Living with the Dead. The books switch main narrators, those being:

Elena Michaels the only female werewolf
Hope Adams, the oldest half-demon child of Lucifer
Jaime Vegas, the Necromancer who is a famous TV spiritualist (But doesn't use her powers to do so)
Eve Levine, the half demon witch turned Angel
Savannah Levine, the half witch/half sorcerer child of Eve's
Paige Winterbourne, a witch who started her own coven/raised Savannah after Eve was murdered

Omens is mostly in first person PoV, with some third person PoVs thrown in.
