what books are you reading?
I think I am gong to see if they have House of Leaves. I might all get some books to reread from my favorite author Robert Cormier. The Chocolate War and After the First Death are my favorites.

I bought Beowulf in comic form a while back and still haven't read it, though. I'm going on a long journey today to attend a wedding, so maybe I'll bring it along and read it during the trip.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-15 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)tbh this decision was in no small part motivated by the fascinating wank I've seen on F!S, though tumblr had its contribution as well.

I don't normally read romance, but this is worth checking out.
I'm also reading Shelby Foote's Civil War Trilogy. That's a long one and I have to take breaks from it.

LoTR and the Hobbit will always be on my favourite list, possibly the Drizzt Do Urden and the War of the Spider Queen series as well.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-15 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)Summary: The collection of ten absorbing tales by master psychotherapist Irvin D. Yalom uncovers the mysteries, frustrations, pathos, and humor at the heart of the therapeutic encounter. In recounting his patients' dilemmas, Yalom not only gives us a rare and enthralling glimpse into their personal desires and motivations but also tells us his own story as he struggles to reconcile his all-too human responses with his sensibility as a psychiatrist. Not since Freud has an author done so much to clarify what goes on between a psychotherapist and a patient.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-15 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)Very Important Question! Is anyone familiar with Great North Road by Peter F Hamilton? If so, would you recommend it? I bought it for my dad for Father's Day and am now second guessing my choice.

(In regards to House of Leaves - it's one of those books where it's either the most mindblowing thing you've ever read of a waste of time.)
