I just want to chime in that this was my case as well. I had cramps so severe and so painful that I had seizures from them. Then I went on birth control, and now, I might have an hour of cramps the entire week, and they're nothing like they were. More like "ugh go away" than "I think I'm going to die". Short of a hysterectomy, it's the best thing I could have done.
