Oh god yeah. The Mary Sues and Self Inserts in Potterdom are just appalling. JK Rowling has a lot to answer for by writing a story structured so that it allows for such a massive number of them.

On the other hand, you can never have too much genderbending. Providing it is real genderbending and not just writing an OC and saying it is was the "born a guy version of a female character or vice versa". Turned-into-a-Girl!Draco is my fave Potter character. Recs solicited.

Not sure if this counts, but Rebound (http://archiveofourown.org/works/225207/chapters/340923) by GatewayGirl is pretty good, imho. Draco isn't a girl, but he drinks a potion to turn into one.

There's also Territorial (http://archiveofourown.org/works/12479) by Greenie, which is a really hot PWP, with Sirius and Snape both girls.

I can't think of any good long ones featuring genderswapped characters, though.

Woah there smartass. Are authors now held accountable because they didn't squeeze out every possibility to make OCs fit in their world?

If they aren't, then dammit, they should be. Someone has to be accountable for literature's own crime against humanity, the Mary Sue OC!
