Couldn't disagree more. It's always felt like the Sam Show to me. I just feel like he's always the one who gets all the storylines, all the myth arcs and Dean's just left to worry about his little brother and take care of his little brother. Something about that really, really irks me. I think it's because I'm an older sister and Supernatural just constantly makes me feel like I'm Doing It Wrong simply because, even though I love my little brother and would jump in front of a bullet for him, I have a life outside of my little brother. Anyway, that went in a different direction than I thought it would, but... Yeah, no. I don't agree.

*currently awaiting an actual storyline for Dean Winchester in season nine - one that does not revolve around Sam or Cas - and is expecting to be disappointed*

+1 I don't have siblings, but enough w/the Dean must be Sam's support and give up his life for Sam story lines already. I'd also love a story line that is independent of Cas and Sam.

It really bothers me that Dean has never really had a storyline that doesn't revolve around Sam or Cas.

I mean, I think they tried with the Lisa thing, but dropped it because ''fans'' were like ''ew, girls'' and then they tried again with his alcoholism (which it seemed like they were going to address in season seven) but then they just dropped that altogether.

AND THEN there was Purgatory but that was just...sorely underused. I was really shocked and disappointed with how little Purgatory there was. I thought that was going to be a major storyline, but apparently the writers decided to be all ''lol nope, let's just talk more about what happened after Sam hit a dog instead and make the audience know that Dean and Sam are not allowed to have friends that aren't each other.''

And it's just... I don't get it. There was an article recently that actually said, ''Sam's story is about evil. Dean's story is about Sam'' and everyone was agreeing with it and I was just over here going ''um, what?''

Much of that is a product of how they were raised, though. I am assuming that you and your little brother were not dragged all over the country in the back seat of a car and shuttled to 5 different schools each year in between having to worry about being killed and eaten by something that goes bump in the night. Taking that into consideration, you've probably done an excellent job as a big sister.

No, that's true. We weren't in danger and we never had to kill any supernatural critters. We were, however, dragged across the country and for a long time, we were each other's only friends. But thank you for that comment. It did put a smile on my face.
