Weird names in fantasy bug me too. I don't mind authors making up names, but I hate it when they are difficult to spell and pronounce and there is no consistency in the spelling. And GRRM isn't making up names, just altering them or spelling them strangely.

Like Jaime and Cersei - if Jaime is supposed to be pronounced like Jamie in the books, why not use Circe for Cersei, since then they would both end in just an E, representing the long E sound. The -ei ending makes me want to say it with an "ay" sound.

Some of the actors pronounce it sir-say, I've noticed.

You can't trust the actors to pronounce anything right, Cersei and Tywin can't agree on how to pronounce Tyrell, Loras and Margaery say it different too, and Tyrion can't decide between SAHNSAH and SANSUH
