My guess is that they found out that HBO is making a tv show out of it, and they want to read the book so they can say later 'oh yeah, I read the book, it's soooo much better' or some other stupid hipster statement about reading the book first.

Read the book because you want to fucking read it, not to get hipster points. I personally loved the book, and I liked Anansi Boys too, couldn't stand Good Omens though.

Someone told me that Neil Gaiman writes in a way that he expects his audience to not be fucking morons. Sounds like anon poster is a fucking moron and won't like the book.

No. I'm reading it because it's on my to-read list and I'd been putting it off for forever because I don't know what to expect. Not for a TV show (although sweet!) not for Hipster points and not to please you :)
