Re: When are you part of a fandom?
So even if you don't make anything, but - say - rec or comment on a fic, you're part of fandom. Or even if you don't really participate online but talk about the latest episode to a friend or coworker, then you're part of fandom. On the flip side, I don't know if I'd consider a 100% lurker both online and IRL part of fandom, even if they read a lot and/or looked at a bunch of art and cosplay.
There just has to be that social aspect for me; doesn't matter how it manifests as long as it's there.
