While I don't think it's actually canon, it does make anough sense to be taken that way for me to adopt it as headcanon. Especially since Squall's sudden personality change concerning the "romance" starts at a point where everything in the game goes nuts, so you could take it as his brain slowly checking out.
It doesn't really fit with the usual Final Fantasy theme, though. Now if it was a SMT game, I'd be dead certain.

Fuck. o.o I like this even better than Rinoa is the sorceress. mainly because I don't understand how rinoa is a sorceress works. or the sorceress plot in the original game, for that matter.

Damn, I only played VIII once and remembered the ending being weird, but watching it again ten years later, and reading that, I felt as though I were watching a Japanese horror film. Fuck.
