I don't know, I've seen Lana Parilla in other things (well, one other thing: Covert Affairs), and seen her give interviews, and she is really, really different from her acting as Regina. So I give her the benefit of the doubt and mostly blame the writing when there's a misstep.

I may be biased because I find her unbelievably beautiful when she looks sad, but overall I'm comfortable in that assessment.
