Yup

I don't think she's bad but definitely got lucky getting that part, but I do think she's doing amazing things with the shitty writting on the show, most of them are, really.

I don't know, I've seen Lana Parilla in other things (well, one other thing: Covert Affairs), and seen her give interviews, and she is really, really different from her acting as Regina. So I give her the benefit of the doubt and mostly blame the writing when there's a misstep.

~~I may be biased because I find her unbelievably beautiful when she looks sad, but overall I'm comfortable in that assessment~~.

I think she's one of the better actresses on the show, and I'm saying this as someone who has little attachment to the character. She's able to hold her own against Robert Carlyle at least.

Yeah I dont think she's a fantastic actress but the character really works for her.

It's cause the rest of the crew are worse than her.

I think you're around Regina stans too much, she's really not great. If I want to be generous to her then yeah, hammy shows like Once Upon a Time are not easy to pull off and most of your run of the mill actors can't do it (that's why the rest of the cast with a few exceptions is bad too.) But Lana is often cringe worthy and I don't even think she fits the part perfectly, Regina could be a brilliant villain with slightly better acting and slightly better writing.

Ia. She's definitely improved since early season one, but she's still not great.

I don't know if the crap they give her to work with is really a fair judge. She has good face and I feel like if she had some real material she could do some good, so IDK if I'd call her mediocre (or really judge any of the actors based on OUAT... except Henry).

She says she acts Regina as if she's insane. I think he does a good job at that, because it makes Regina's poor choices make more sense.

I don't feel comfortable judging any of the ONCE actors or actresses from their work on the show, and I haven't seen her in anything else so I can't really comment. (Don't get me wrong, I like the show sometimes but I'm aware it's no masterpiece. The actors don't have a lot to work with and can come off as cringe-worthy.)

So yea, she doesn't impress me either and I can't stand the character, but idk if she 'lucked out'.

Hey, at least her acting is no Emma Swan ;) (To be fair, I've seen Jennifer in other shows and she can act. Just not in OUAT.)

I really like Lana and I think she's done a good job with what she's been given, but I don't think she's the best actress ever. Not even the best on the show.

Eh, I don't think she's the best actress either. I mean she's okay but there are others I like better. I can't stand her character though, but that's not her fault *looks at OUaT writers*.

I wouldn't ever call her bad. She's good. Just not great.. and she definitely seems amazing because the majority of that cast is really terrible at acting. So she stands out.

I think she's actually not very good in the role as is. Her acting just stands out to me as... kind of bad.

The mark of a good actor is the ability to make an unsympathetic character sympathetic, and she fails miserably no matter how many times she tears up and gazes pathetically at the camera.

She seems like a REALLY nice woman, but a good actor? No.

I'm the opposite; I don't like the character and get annoyed by how much screentime she takes up, but I've seen interviews and outtakes with the actress and like her.

Everyone on this show is a terrible actor except for Rumples, and even then he chews the scenery in a meta fashion.

i've never really seen her in anything else but idk she sells regina to me where i'm pretty sure a lot of other actors in that role wouldn't. i am a fan of her face though so there is that
