I love Jen because she actually makes me laugh. I always feel like the female characters in sitcoms just aren't funny and aren't given funny lines/personalities/stories because they're supposed to be "smarter" or "better" than the men, who do get all the funny bits. Jen is just as flawed as Moss and Roy but in a different way. She makes me laugh just as much.

Also, Matt Berry's delivery cracks me up. If you don't like it, I understand. It's not for everyone, but it disturbs you? It seems odd that you would be disturbed by this show.

Yes! I hate it when women in comedies aren't allowed to be funny except for a few snarky lines. This trope is offensive to me as a man as it often makes men out to be buffoons who have to be saved by women all the time. When men and women can be equally silly, it balances everything out.

And it's offensive to me as a woman because it makes me feel like I have to be flawless and prove that I'm smarter and wittier than men just in order not to be the butt of negative jokes.

And it's offensive to me as a woman because it fosters the stereotype that women can't be funny and are humourless (which is often brought up by men IRL). It also implies that women are boring and stuck-up while men are quirky and fun.
It all boils down to the fact that the sexy woman is supposed to fall for an idiot and laugh about his jokes to make him feel good about himself.
