Me, I love a caipirinha, or a plain mojito. Something fresh and zesty and little herbal, not too sweet or sickly. Anything that involving champagne is also good. Bubbles are just so sophisticated!

I need cocktail recipes for my housewarming. Help me out, F!S! What are your favourite cocktails, and why? Because they are delicious, or do they have a memory connected to them for you personally? Please tell!

*PS non-alcoholic cocktails also welcome!

I like Negronis, and whiskey cocktails like your Manhattans and all the whiskey+vermouth variants. That's mostly what I like, because I like gin and whiskey and I like Campari and vermouth and things like that.

Bellinis, because I like to mask the hell out of already frou-frou alcohol. :) I like margaritas too, but only the frozen ones.

When I drink, I normally like just beer or wine. Just starting to explore cocktails; I've liked some of the flavored martinis (that aren't martinis, I know, but still), especially a pomegranate flavored one I had once.

I like fresh pomegranite, it has an interestingly bitter and potent aftertaste. I bet the seeds would be interesting in a taste combination with gin or maybe high quality vodka. Thanks for the inspiration <3

Get a really good quality gin, preferably one with a strong juniper berry bias, and combine it with something like elderflower or lemongrass. Fragrant, fresh and lovely! Favourtie of mine for sure. Happy housewarming :)

I'd never thought to combine gin and elderflower.

Would something like St. Germain work for that?

I usually drink Highland malt Scotch. Not very creative in terms of pouring the drink, but the whole process of planting, growing and distilling makes for a huge variety of flavors. I like trying and comparing a few against each other whenever I'm in the mood to drink alcohol.

I used to like piña colada, but they are a bit too sweet and sticky for me now. I really love Planter's Punch, it's fruity and not too sweet.

Damn, I'd really love to go out for cocktails again, it's been years!

I love drinks! Strawberry daiquiris are one of my favorites and we always use fresh strawberries, a little ice and rum, that's it!

I tend to order rum & coke out because it's easy. I also have a habit of creating my own cocktails at home. Vanilla coke and whipped vodka, whipped vodka and orange soda, sparkling cranberry juice and Three Olives loopy vodka, cranberry vodka and ginger ale. Really I take a flavored vodka and just mix it with whatever it around.

Toasted almonds are pretty good and it's kahlua, amaretto, and cream/milk.

I love everything about Midori. I'd drink most cocktails made with it.

I don't really like champagne, but some friends do and they make a drink out of champagne + lemon ice cream.

You can also spruce champagne up a bit with a cherry on the glass, as in you put the cherry in, pour the champagne over it, let that sit for a bit and you have cherry-ish flavored champagne. Plus, when you're done with drinking it, you can eat the alcohol-imbibed cherry.

Also, I'd buy a bottle of grenadine if you're hosting people who don't drink. Grenadine goes great with sprite (it's known as Shirley Temple) and I like myself a tequila sunrise (tequila, orange juice, and grenadine)

Cape Coders are my absolute go to cocktail drink (vodka-crans for those of you outside New England) but I also love me some Black Russians/Mudlslides/anything with Kahlua in it okay.

A friend and I once made hot chocolate with Godiva liqueur, Peppermint Kahlua, and Cadbury drinking chocolate and it was heavenly.

For those of us who like our booze sweet, there's this thing I had with my sister-in-law when my brother commisioned into the air force - rum, pineapple juice, and a shot of grenadine over ice. NOM.

Also, seconding/thirding/whatevering the recommendation upthread for strawberry daiquiris. Heaven in a glass. :D

A Tyler Durdan (or at least that's what they call it in the place I get it from)- Havana Especial, clove liquer, lime and ginger beer. Absolutely gorgeous :)

I don't know if those count but Amaretto sour and Midori sore. The first drink I ever tried. It's good for beginner and people that prefer sweeter drinks.

Either a kir royale (Chambord and champagne) or a Hendricks gin and tonic with a twist of cucumber.

For me, nothing beats a Bushwacker, especially when I'm at the beach. I'm also fond of this drink I made up, which I like to call a Tropical Cola. You take about eight ounces of Coke, add an ounce of coconut rum, an ounce of banana rum, a splash of pineapple juice and a little paper umbrella. I used to enjoy drinking it when watching Psych.

Oooh, and I really love Crown Royal and Dr. Pepper. It's just a fantastic combo.

Man, I wish I could still drink. Stupid meds.

Fuzzy navels were the first alcohol I could stand. It will always hold a special place in my heart. :D

Last time I had one at a bar they put grenadine in it, which I wasn't used to (my stepdad always made it just peach schnapps and orange juice). Tasted funny. Maybe it had too much grenadine.

I love Fuzzy navels, and Kahlua with almond milk.
