has it ever occured to anybody that he might not even need it? I mean, just because kryptonians have super strength doesn't mean all involuntary reactions would be magnified.

Like, if you do the reflex test on Superman, it works... exactly the same as it dos with a human. His leg kicks out subtly with very little force and you'd be perfectly safe if it touched you.

Yep. He gets his powers because the yellow sun of Earth than the red sun of Krypton.

It's been shown before that being in an enclosed space with the only light being from lamps or lighting sources that emulate the light of a red star saps his powers until he's pretty much human-normal.

... It has also been used for sexytimes in any number of fics.
