While the practices of the Church of Scientology can be more than a little skeevy at times, I've never met a Scientologist that I could say I didn't like as a person. Just being into a strange religion doesn't mean they're bad people.

You do know that would only be the people higher up right? Or employees (or whatever they're called) present in the events you're speaking of.

The vast majority of scientologists are victims not abusers. Even many employees work for the company (they're more shady business than cult even imho) do so without knowing the ~secrets~ and have no idea what goes on. Scientology works so hard to prevent bad press to stop their current members from finding stuff out too.

A lot of people who get caught up in cults are oftentimes quite intelligent people.
